Ikeyia grew up in Tallahassee. The small town capital of Florida where her creative journey began. From an early age, Ikeyia became fascinated with the intricacies of hair by watching and learning from her aunt who was a gifted stylist.  She learned how to monetize braiding at the age of 11, and from then on her time was devoted to her image and styling education and training.  As soon as she could, Ikeyia began her career at The Aveda Institute.

In 2018, while working in her hometown as a salon hair stylist, Ikeyia got the opportunity to assist editorial and runway stylist Jon Reyman, owner of Spoke n Weal salons, for the Spring/Summer New York fashion week. In her first encounter of fashion week, she worked a total of three shows. That opportunity made way for what she calls "a divine series of events." Less than a year after her experience of working New York Fashion week, and with 5 years of salon experience under her belt, she packed up and moved to New York.

Fascinated by shapes and textures, her approach is to enhance hair in a way that emphasizes its fabric. As a hairstylist and visionary, Ikeyia takes pride in the details of each project and works to make sure that every look is customized to the individuality of her clients, and the creative vision. Her inspiration comes from everyday people. The question she asks herself when facing each new project is "how can I take this  look and elevate it?"

Her dedication to her craft and love for creative projects has opened up this new part of her journey and brought her some successes along the way. Ikeyia is proud to have been called on to assist top celebrity and editorial stylist like Nai'vasha also known as "The Curl Queen" as well as Holli Smith, editorial hairstylist managed by Art Partner. She has done work that has been featured in publications like Essence and Vogue magazine. Ikeyia has also done hair for runway shows and campaigns like Pyer Moss and Nike, as well as worked on campaigns like Pattern Beauty by Tracee Ellis Ross.

Currently, when Ikeyia isn't on set, she works as a texture expert for the brand Mizani while taking a few days for her in salon clientele.
